Gardai continue investigation after raiders strike at the Failte
G
GARDAÍ in Killarney are investigating a burglary in the Fáilte Hotel that took place in the early hours of Monday morning.
Thieves broke into the storeroom and office, making off with a large amount of alcohol and some cash.
The raiders struck between 1am and 7am on Monday morning, according to a Garda spokesperson.
Gardaí are keen to hear from anyone who may have spotted anything suspicious in the Clover's Lane, College Street and Glebe car park areas during those hours. “We believe the culprits took scaffolding from the nearby building site for the new Vodafone store which they used in the raid,” said a Garda spokesperson. “A large amount of spirits was taken in the robbery.”
It is believed a vehicle is likely to have been used transport the stolen alcohol from the scene. “If anyone comes across this alcohol for sale, it will be apparent from the labels, which will be upside down as the spirits were for use as optics,” added the spokesperson.
If you can help in the investigation, contact Killarney Garda Station on 064-6631222.
