Killarney quiz and auction in aid of homelessness crisis
C
CALLING all quiz whizzes - a table quiz and auction fundraiser has been planned to help in a charity initiative planned by two well-known Killarney businesspeople.
Killarney Chamber of Tourism & Commerce President Kate O’Leary and Councillor Niall Kelleher will both spend a night sleeping out to help raise funds and awareness of the homelessness crisis that is sweeping the country.
Their involvement is part of Focus Ireland campaign which will see prominent business interests and public representatives sleeping out, in either Cork or Dublin, on October 21 to shine a light on the homelessness crisis.
They have both set a target of raising at least €5,000 for the cause and, to help them achieve that goal, they will host a table quiz in The Laurels on Thursday, October 13.
The entry fee is €50 for a table of five and the event will commence at 8pm. Some fantastic prizes will be auctioned on the night and there will also be a super auction at which a number of valuable and impressive prizes will come under the auctioneer’s gavel.
