Talented Nik captures Beautiful Killarney

A fabulous new book of photos which takes readers on a tour of Killarney is now available in shops. Photographer Nik Hall describes Beautiful Killarney: A Walk Through the National Park as a guide for people coming to Killarney, or a book that visitors can take with them as momento.
“It’s a walk through from town right through to Ladies View, taking in all the sights on the way,” Nik explains. “It takes you back down through Muckross woods to Muckross Abbey. It’s a route you can walk or drive or cycle. Every picture in the book is in order of what you could possibly see on the way.”
“I wanted people to go and hunt for some views themselves. That’s the thing about Killarney. I haven’t even scratched the surface of all the things here myself and I’ve got a book on it.”
Nik, who is originally from the south coast of England, says he always had a passion for photography but he wasn’t able to attack it properly until about five years ago. He taught himself from scratch which is a remarkable feat, especially considering the quality of the images on show in this beautifully crafted, self-published book.
“We had the launch day a few weeks ago at Fossa GAA and it was great. The reaction has been really positive so far.”
Beautiful Killarney is available from Easons, O’Connor’s, The Handy Stores and the Bricín. For more information, email lordhallpublishing@gmail.com. You can also follow Nik on Twitter @niksimages.
