National Broadband Plan ready to connect Black Valley

The Black Valley in County is set to receive high-speed fibre broadband for the first time later this month.
National Broadband Ireland (NBI) will be marking the occasion with an event on September 13.
Residents can already pre-order their connections, with broadband expected to be available in the second half of the year.
“It is well known that Black Valley was one of the last locations to get electricity due to its remoteness and challenging terrain, so we are extremely pleased to be commencing the rollout of our high-speed fibre network now with a view to connections being available later this year,” said National Broadband Ireland Deployment CEO, TJ Malone.
Minister of State Ossian Smyth and NBI CEO Peter Hendrick will be attending the launch event to celebrate this milestone.
They will make brief addresses to an audience of stakeholders and local residents as the NBI team marks the rollout of broadband to one of the last places on mainland Ireland to get electricity and telephone networks.
