Multi-story car park mooted for New Street

The car park on New Street could become a multi-story if plans discussed at this week’s Killarney Municipal District meeting come to fruition.
Cllr Niall ‘Botty’ O'Callaghan put forward the idea in the Town Hall on Wednesday.
He asked if “the Council prioritises in whatever financial way that works, the provision of a multi-storey car park in the bottom section of the New Street Car Park.”
A council official, in reply, said, the council would look into the idea.
The official said: “The Council are currently examining the car parks within Killarney town and assessing their suitability for a multi storey car park. This assessment will be considered in the context of the overall car parking strategy for parking provision in the town.”
