Muckross House entrance tidy up

At Wednesday's Killarney Municipal District meeting, Cllr John O'Donoghue raised the issue of the unkempt appearance of the entrance to Muckross House.
He highlighted the three different levels at the Front Gate entrance to Muckross House and Gardens, used for jaunting cars and car parking, and the neglected state of the surrounding shrubbery and flower garden areas.
O'Donoghue requested that either the National Park and Wildlife Service (NPWS) or the council take responsibility for tidying up the area before the start of the tourist season.
The Killarney MD Office confirmed that they will carry out the necessary gardening work to improve the appearance of the car park and entrance.
