Lack of chefs forces closure of popular restaurant

A popular College St restaurant is to cease trading as it cannot get staff.
Garret’s Restaurant announced this week that it will close its doors for good on January 27.
Owner Gearóid MacGearailt said he cannot get qualified staff, particularly chefs to help him run the business.
“I find myself in the position that I cannot proceed into the year ahead while alone in the kitchen so I have made the very difficult decision to close the restaurant,” he said.
The restaurant operated for four years.
“A huge thank you to my wonderful staff who have been both loyal and hardworking. I could not have asked for better,” he said.
Garret’s will remain in operation from Thursday to Sunday each week until January 27 whine it close its doors for the final time.
